Lighting the path for everyone.

The Guided Pathway Foundation serves to prevent negative mental health states before they appear. By focusing on early intervention rather than crisis response, we support healthier people, stronger communities and more sustainable systems.

Who We Are

The Guided Pathway Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built on one core belief: emotional wellness support should reach people before they reach a crisis point. We exist in the space before the storm, where awareness, reflection, and the right tools can change the direction someone's life takes. Our work is rooted in prevention, not reaction.

  • GPF develops and distributes clinically aligned emotional intelligence resources designed for real-world use across schools, workplaces, families, and communities. Every program, every book, and every partnership we build is shaped by the same core commitment: practical support, accessible tools, and earlier intervention before challenges become harder to recover from.

  • Our foundation's direction is informed by the clinical insight of Kayla Luu, LCSW, and the work of Give Energy Make Smiles (GEMS), a licensed mental health practice dedicated to emotional wellness through evidence-informed tools and therapeutic frameworks. That clinical foundation is what separates our approach from general wellness content. Our resources are developed with purpose and designed to function in the hands of everyday people, not just clinicians.

  • We are based in Southwest Florida and currently working to place emotionally informed resources into communities across the region through the Southwest Florida Community Reach Program, while expanding our organizational reach nationwide through the Organizational Wellness Distribution Program. Our tools are built for schools, workplaces, nonprofits, families, and any community space where early support can make a lasting difference.

  • As a society, we treat the collapse but we don't build the prevention. The warning signs are everywhere. More children, teens, and adults are experiencing emotional distress, anxiety, and burnout at levels that cannot be ignored. GPF was created for the quiet moments before those breaking points, to equip individuals and communities with systems that strengthen them before the storm arrives.

The Southwest Florida Community Reach Program

Building Emotional Intelligence
Access Across Southwest Florida

The Southwest Florida Community Reach Program is designed to place clinically aligned emotional intelligence tools directly into the hands of individuals, families, youth, and community spaces where early support can make a lasting difference. Through large-scale book distribution and local outreach, this program helps expand access to practical, prevention-focused resources that people can engage with in their own time, at their own pace, and within the places they already live, learn, gather, and grow.

How the Program Works

This initiative focuses on intentional community-based distribution. Rather than waiting until people are already in crisis, the program helps place supportive emotional intelligence materials into everyday environments where access can be easier, more natural, and more immediate.

  • Bulk distribution of emotional intelligence books into Southwest Florida communities
  • Placement through local access points such as schools, neighborhood spaces, outreach events, and family-centered settings
  • Resources designed to be approachable, practical, and easy to engage with independently
  • Support for early awareness, reflection, communication, and emotional skill-building

What Distribution Can Look Like

The program is built to meet communities where they already are. Distribution can happen through direct outreach, take-home access, and community-centered partnerships that allow resources to move beyond a single event and into homes and daily life.

  • Books shared at community events, school-related initiatives, and local outreach efforts
  • Take-home distribution so individuals and families can continue engaging with the material privately
  • Placement into waiting spaces, support environments, and trusted neighborhood access points
  • Flexible outreach models that can serve youth, parents, caregivers, and the broader community

What Support Makes Possible

Every contribution helps move resources farther into the community. Support helps cover the cost of books, outreach preparation, distribution logistics, local partnerships, and the expansion of access across multiple Southwest Florida communities.

  • Increases the number of books that can be placed directly into communities
  • Helps widen access across diverse neighborhoods and local populations
  • Supports prevention-focused outreach before emotional challenges become more severe
  • Strengthens long-term community access to practical emotional wellness tools

Organizational Wellness Program Options

Our Organizational Wellness Distribution Program provides emotionally informed tools designed for different levels of readiness, support needs, and organizational goals. Each option is built to help workplaces, schools, community groups, and service-based environments introduce practical emotional intelligence resources in a clear and usable way.

Emotional Awareness Distribution Package (set of 20)
$500.00

Every meaningful change begins with a moment of recognition. The Emotional Awareness Distribution Package is designed for organizations taking their first intentional step toward emotional wellness. It gives participants a practical, approachable tool for understanding what they feel, why they feel it, and how those emotions shape their behavior. Simple to distribute. Easy to engage with. A strong foundation for everything that follows.

Best for Organizations new to emotional wellness programming or looking for a low-barrier entry point that still delivers real value. This package works well when the goal is to introduce emotional intelligence in a way that feels accessible and non-clinical while still being grounded in meaningful insight.

What it includes 20 copies of Why Do I Feel This Way… and how to change it, a practical emotional awareness guide developed within the GEMS clinical framework. Written to be engaging and approachable for a wide range of readers across different backgrounds and settings.

Why this tool was chosen Before people can change emotional patterns, they need to see them. This guide helps participants build the emotional vocabulary and self-awareness that make deeper growth possible. It meets people where they are and creates a foundation that every other emotional wellness effort can build on.

How it can be used Distribute as a standalone wellness resource, include in staff onboarding or student support kits, offer at community events or family outreach initiatives, or use as the starting point of a broader emotional wellness program. Participants can engage independently at their own pace.

Good fit for

  • Schools and youth-serving programs

  • Small businesses beginning wellness efforts

  • Nonprofits and community organizations

  • Faith-based and family support environments

  • Any team looking for a meaningful, accessible first step

Emotional Insight and Action Distribution Package (set of 20)
$1,000.00

Awareness is where growth begins. Action is where it takes hold. This package pairs two clinically aligned tools that work together to take participants from understanding what they feel to knowing what to do about it. For organizations that want emotional intelligence to translate into real behavioral change, this is the natural next step.

Best for Organizations ready to go beyond emotional recognition and support participants in applying that awareness with greater clarity, direction, and intention. This package works best when the goal is not just understanding emotions but developing the practical skills to navigate them more effectively.

What it includes 20 copies each of Why Do I Feel This Way… and how to change it and Where to Start, two tools developed within the GEMS clinical framework that build on each other. The first develops emotional awareness. The second helps participants translate that awareness into direction, decision-making, and healthier action.

Why this tool was chosen These two tools were designed to work together. Emotional awareness without direction can stall. Direction without self-awareness leads nowhere. Together they create a more complete emotional intelligence framework that supports both understanding and forward movement, making this package significantly more impactful than either tool alone.

How it can be used Use as a staff wellness initiative, leadership development support, student growth program, or group distribution effort for families and community members. Works well at the start of a program cycle or as an upgrade for organizations that have already introduced the Emotional Awareness package and are ready to go deeper.

Good fit for

  • Workplaces wanting stronger wellness support

  • Schools focused on student growth and emotional regulation

  • Nonprofits serving families, youth, or transitional populations

  • Organizations wanting both awareness and practical next-step tools

  • Teams building toward a more structured emotional wellness program

Emotional Intelligence Engagement Package (set of 10)
$1,600.00

Some tools get read once and put down. This one gets picked up every day. The 90-Day Emotional Foundation Planner is designed for organizations that want emotional wellness to become a practice, not just a concept. Over 90 days, participants build self-awareness, track emotional patterns, and develop habits that create real, lasting change. This is the package for organizations ready to go deeper.

Best for Organizations that want measurable engagement and behavior change over time. This package works best when the goal is not simply exposure to emotional intelligence ideas but the development of consistent habits, stronger self-awareness, and practical emotional skills that carry into daily life and work.

What it includes 10 copies of the 90-Day Emotional Foundation Planner, a clinically aligned, daily-use tool developed within the GEMS framework. Each planner guides participants through structured reflection, emotional tracking, and habit-building practices across a full 90-day cycle.

Why this tool was chosen Most wellness resources ask people to read. This one asks them to return. The daily structure of the planner creates repeated engagement that builds over time, which is how emotional habits actually form. For organizations serious about prevention-focused wellness, this is the tool that moves the work from intention into practice.

How it can be used Distribute at the start of a quarter, semester, wellness initiative, or onboarding cycle. Works well as part of a staff wellness program, student support framework, group accountability effort, or any structured environment where consistency and follow-through are the goal. Participants can engage independently while organizations track progress as a group.

Good fit for

  • Workplaces launching or deepening wellness programs

  • Schools supporting student emotional development

  • Nonprofits running structured support groups

  • Healthcare and community organizations

  • Any team ready to move from awareness to action

The Voyager Distribution Package (set of 10)
$1,600.00

Personal growth doesn't have to feel like work. The Voyager is a gamified self development system that transforms daily tasks, goals, and real life challenges into a structured adventure. Built around card-driven gameplay and guided reflection, it gives participants a system that makes showing up for their own growth feel immersive, rewarding, and worth returning to every single day. This is emotional wellness that people actually want to engage with.

Best for Organizations that want emotional wellness tools with high engagement and long-term participation. The Voyager works especially well in settings where motivation, follow-through, and consistent habit development are the goal, and where traditional workbooks or reading-based tools haven't held people's attention.

What it includes 10 Voyager Starter Bundles, each containing a Compass Deck and Navigator Workbook. Participants choose from five clinically informed focus areas: The Anxious Conqueror, The Goal Achiever, The Hero Journey, Defeating Depression, and The Iron Will. Each bundle gives individuals a fully personalized, self-guided growth experience.

Why this tool was chosen Most wellness tools ask people to reflect. The Voyager asks them to play. The game-inspired mechanics, including daily card draws, XP tracking, leveling up, and High Seas Challenges, create a system that rewards effort and makes progress visible. For organizations serving people who disengage from traditional formats, this tool meets them in a completely different way.

How it can be used Distribute at the start of a wellness program, youth development initiative, group support series, or staff enrichment cycle. Works well in schools, community groups, transitional support environments, and workplace wellness programs where sustained engagement over time is the goal. Participants self-guide through the system independently while organizations can use the leveling structure to track group progress.

Good fit for

  • Youth programs and after-school environments

  • Transitional support and reentry programs

  • Workplaces wanting higher engagement wellness tools

  • Schools focused on motivation and emotional regulation

  • Nonprofits serving populations that respond better to creative, non-clinical formats

  • Any organization ready to make personal growth feel like an adventure

Why This Work Matters

The Need for This Work Is Urgent

Across the country, the warning signs are clear. More children, teens, and adults are experiencing emotional distress, hopelessness, anxiety, and depression at levels that cannot be ignored. These are not isolated struggles. They reflect a growing need for early, practical, emotionally informed support that reaches people before their difficulties become more severe.

40%

of U.S. high school students reported persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness in 2023.

20%

seriously considered attempting suicide, and nearly 9% reported an attempt.

29%

said their mental health was not good most of the time or always during the past 30 days.

12%

of U.S. adults regularly reported feelings of anxiety, while 5% regularly reported depression.

1 in 5

adults had ever been told they had depression or an anxiety disorder.

These numbers show why prevention matters. Emotional intelligence and early support can help people build healthier coping skills, stronger self-awareness, and greater emotional stability before stress grows into deeper mental health challenges.
